Director of Finance & planning

Vicent kibira is a research analyst and heads the planning and finance department at the Gateway Research Centre (GRC). He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration majoring in Accounting & Finance from Makerere University and a Bachelor’s degree in Procurement & logistics management from Mbale University.

He joined GRC as a researcher in projects and proposal development in May 2017. Prior to joining GRC he worked as a business analyst with DFCU bank in Development and Institutional banking (DIB) department, Asst Lecturer at Makerere University College of Education and External Studies. He also worked as an independent consultant in clearing & forwarding Agency.

His research interests are in the areas macroeconomic analysis, public expenditure analysis, local economic development, financial sector performance and access to and use of financial services in Uganda.

Vicent kibira’s research focuses on health, poverty, Education, women & youth empowerment with a strong emphasis towards the youth as critical issues in realizing sustainable development goals. Vicent has worked with the ILO in developing the policy influence plan to support change facilitation in the area of youth entrepreneurship. Drafting policy briefs on youth unemployment in Uganda in partnership with Buganda Kingdom-Ministry of Youths sports & recreation. He was also a lead researcher in the study conducted in post primary rural institutions in the four regions of Uganda that is Central, northern, western and Eastern regions.
